I came across this sign while out on a night shoot at Tawarri in Western Australia and noticed that it was facing directly South, so I decided to shoot another set of star trails.

1 hours worth of 30 second exposures and the combination of light painting to illuminate the sign to create this photo.

EOS 500D And 15-85 IS.

Its interesting the way you have produced the star trail. How do you combine all the images? I have just done long exposures but the nikon battery only allows me 45min exposure including noise reduction time. bettyb

  • I use the Startrails Application and shoot a series of 30 second exposures, and then stack all the photos to create the star trails.
