A Black Cockatoo in flight. This was taken on my first trip out with my new Nikon D90 and 18-200 VR. It was a bit of a spontaneous shot as I had been testing out the video feature of the camera while the Cockatoos were sitting in a nearby tree, and just as I took the camera off my tripod and was about to pack up, the Cockatoos all flew off, and I quickly shot off a few frames. It was overcast on this day which resulted in a slower shutter speed then I was after (and I didn’t really have much time to make the necessary adjustments) but I kind of like the way the wings have blurred in this shot which gives a sense of moment.
