Moonrise Over Water Dance Sculptures by

The Full Moon Rising Over The Water Dance Sculptures In Western Australia.

The Water Dance Sculptures is a public art installation located on the Forrest Highway near the town of Pinjarra South of Mandurah in the Peel Region and 85km South of Perth, Western Australia.

A bit of information about the sculpture:

The sculpture consists of 8 cone shapes some 5.5m high and 4.5m in diameter and 16 poles. The poles and cones are placed at a variety of angles. The interior of the cones are painted blue and are feature solar lighting.

The cones represent cupped hands reaching up to catch the rain drops. The poles represent the water markers found in rivers. The tips of the cones represent a dancer moving with the beat of the rain. The cones are painted blue on the inside.

There were meant to be lights inside the cones but they weren’t working while I was there, I used a combination of light painting using a red and green light and the light from a full moon during my night shoot at the sculpture.
