After night of a very lighting active thunderstorm I decided to head down to Cottesloe beach for sunrise, at first it was looking overcast but as the sun started to rise there was a bit of colour and I started to notice a rainbow starting to develop off the coast, there was a gap in the cloud and for about Two minutes we got a nice burst of intense red and orange colour in the cloud and the rainbow got brighter. You can see the rain shafts coming from another Thunderstorm to the North of Perth looking towards Scarborough on the Horizon, there was a bit of distant lighting still flashing from that storm.
It turned out to be a really nice sunrise, but there were lots of sand flies on the beach and while I wanted to stay a bit longer, it got to the point where it was unbearable to be standing on the beach!
