While the East coast of Australia has just seen some of the wettest weather on record in 2010, over here in Western Australia we recorded our second driest year on record. As a result we have been seeing allot more wildlife moving to feed in towns and in the metropolitan area. I’ve personally have seen many birds in my suburb that I usually only see up in the Perth hills, and in rural areas.
This year, we’ve seen a large invasion of Little Corella’s that have been feeding off nuts and berries and anything else they can find in our neighbourhood.
Today I managed to get a few photos of some of the Little Corella’s that had come to feed on the nuts in the bushes at the front of my house, unfortunately it’s been overcast here in Perth today, so the light wasn’t that great. We had a really big flock of these Little Corella’s on the weekend, but I didn’t manage to get any photos because they had flown away as soon as they saw me coming with my camera. LOL
