Oh it’s so hard to see this – in my memory the Mattagami will always be deeply forested and mysterious. I have some paintings my aunt and my uncle – both of whom we marvelous watercolorists – did before I was born even of the river back then. But Liz, you are right, you’ve caught beauty even in this. What a powerful piece, an abstract of color and a kind of energy that’s indescribable. xox
