The Diamond Firetail is a robust finch that occurs across eastern Australia in which it inhabits woodlands and vegetation along creeklines. The species is now listed under the Threatened Species Conservation Act 1995 as it is threatened by past clearing of woodlands and fragmentation of remaining habitat.
