Amethyst
Obsidian
Iron
or Jade;
Bones of Earth
for which we trade.
Transform
Balance
Attune
Heal;
These are their purpose
upon the Wheel.
Silent, timeless, wise
Awaiting only open eyes.
What makes you believe
you have earned the right
to drain my blood,
sell my bones,
and poison
my battered remains?
A brief taste of wealth and power?
Greedy fools,
Respect your tools!
Black tears
Spreading like cancer,
Poison in my blood,
Destroying the possibility
of Life and Healing
before it’s even begun.
No where to run
from ungrateful
careless children…
Save me from
Humanity!
As within,
so without…
Dance gently,
along a good red road
Sing of Love,
Change,
and Power,
that Harmony may come
at last
to Grandmother’s bower.

nice shot .. very interesting read
So glad you enjoyed both words and image, Angel… These were actually separate poems that were originally written as part of a challenge for a writing group… The focuses are Honoring Mother Earth/ mineral rights/oill spill/beauty of nature… I found in storing them in my files, that they actually combined for a powerful poetic punch, so thought I’d share here at RB. :o) wishing you laughter

Ahhh Quinn my dear friend I have so missed you and am just so distressed to have missed so many of your exquisite and wise lessons (many of which I could have used at the time, I’m sure!). But I’m delighted to have come back today and found this gorgeous image accompanied by these incredibly powerful and dramatic words. Love this my friend – and thank you!
Everything happens when and as it should for each of us. I am always glad to see you Lianne, and send you all my sunniest thoughts on butterfly wings :o) so glad you enjoyed this piece, dearheart xo

You would get along well with my son. This is one of his hobbies too.
Hmmm, this being…. the study of stones? It’s been more challenging than the many years I’ve devoted to the study of the Animal and Plant kingdoms, that’s for sure! Much harder to slow the self down to the pace of these patiet Teachers too.
The poetry was inspired by and actually created as separate poems that were originally written as part of a challenge for a writing group where submissions are 30 words or less, Snippets… The focuses here are Honoring Mother Earth/ mineral rights/oill spill/beauty of nature… I found in storing them in my files, that they actually combined for a powerful poetic punch, so thought I’d share here at RB. This latest catastrophe inflicted on our environment by our own people has been a great source of anger, concern, hurt and stress to me personally, and infinitely more so to the lives of families directly impacted by this terrible contamination of our oceans by oil. Poetry, as always, is a wonderfully comforting therapy! :o) wishing you laughter

One of my favorite things too…Very well done!
Stones? They are fascinating… but so much more challenging for me to connect with than our “quick” cousins like Animals and Plants. Glad you enjoyed Gena! Thanks!
