i didnt think ide still be here today
like a moth to a flame
compelled to stay
feeling my wings burn
for my body hadnt learned
how to control its passionate state
needed to be grounded
only then could i relate
i remember the church to this day
you held me close to love honour and obey
my hand on your shoulder holding you at bay
time bound us together bitter and sweet
now your vice like grip leaves a bad taste
a good father and husband you ground yourself to the bone
giving up your lifesblood to the state
while your family, laughed and played
you missed the sunshine and the rain
unconscious of what is now your pain
