Great news. Herbert is back in his Gladstone bag. He’s looking older and a little frayed around the edges, particularly his feet, but I’m sure it is him as he has one ripped nostril (visible in earlier photographs).
The dead female possum I found must have been another unfortunate.
Here he is – a little the worse for wear Herbert.

oooh okay…..I’ll look out for it, he’s been in the wars a bit then …

Yeah. I think he might have been fighting for territory with the possum who lives at the other end of my house. Anyway the photo is there now.

Maybe he was defending his family that died:(
Awwwe…….He is a wee cutie…….Is he still there in your bag? I have only just read this story an it was a long time ago…..anyways …I like your Images and wee story……x

Hi Doreen. Herbert vacated his Gladstone bag when I rented out a couple of rooms to a girl who has a small dog. Herbert and the dog left each other alone but after a couple of days Herbert was gone from his bag and there was a possum sleeping in an inaccessible spot on top of a wall at the other end of the house. As I can’t see him during the day and have only caught short glimpses of him at night I can’t say for sure that it is Herbert, but it seems likely.
