Updated March 2011:
I’ve taken a break from my art for a little while. I have recently had a baby and just don’t have time at the moment! I am hoping to get back into it in the next few months.
My name is Kelly Biggs and I live near the beautiful New Forest, Hampshire.
I’m a self-taught artist specialising in Encaustic Art. I began working with encaustic art in 2004 and have since gone beyond any boundaries I set when I started.
My personal style is more abstract than traditional methods. I enjoy the surprise element involved in creating, as you can never be 100% sure what will happen when painting something using encaustics.
I love nature, natural environments and colour. In the New Forest, close to where I live, I see many different colours, scenes and feel different emotions and thoughts whenever I’m viewing the stunning scenery.
I don’t paint specific locations or objects, instead I use my memory of the feelings the places and people invoke in me and I attempt to convey the overall feeling of an area, thought, mood or colour.
I find I prefer creating larger pieces of work, as there is more scope for imagination, colour and texture.
A lot of my artwork is available to buy in print form, on RedBubble. Originals are available on my website.
