this is by no way no way a good piece of writing
many gaping ugly holes, no flow, at all!
I am only playing around with an event as a way to
find something for myself, to understand that connection
between woman and man, that mutual sharing of presence
of course I might not be looking in the right place

I could tell almost
immediately
by the cool slide of your
shoe as it found mine
somewhere in that crowded gallery
that I had come
only to find you
I was sure I was ready to leave
when my breath was taken
I could sense
the easy light
make your mouth
richly
spilled with words and smiles
between sips of wine
that I would want only you
when there in between everything
the room had no floor
I wasn’t sure of what was holding me up?
Perhaps the distinctive strength of your shoulders
I touched the outline with my fingertips
you said velvet
I said suede
maybe it was just the simple way
you
watched me
go ?
