my heart when it’s tied up tight
or the way your laugh makes me laugh
or how the very way of you
is honest and kind and real
how easy it is to be myself
how lucky I am that you are here

how I love to sit in treetops and pretend
I am a strange little creature
or how the smell of that old perfume
in the tiny clay pot takes
me back to that Greek island where I found
caves of spirits and old magic books
wrapt in scarves and rose petals

There are things I haven’t told you
how powerful I can be when I am free
how I love to pee in the garden
how preparing food is the sexiest thing
you can do
how the ocean is my dearest friend

There are things I haven’t told you
how hard it is for me to trust
to let go and surrender to love
because I never thought it was possible
for me to feel this love
and I do

yeah it all flows when the heart is open even though I feel like complete crap today I still notice the tingle of happiness just hover at the skin to remind me to trust and it’s okay to be kind to myself
