The Honey Doll

The sun creeps past her heart,
Shielding itself from her… heart.
Dreams on children’s lips,
Die young in their minds.
Forgotten leaves clutter the way.
They have from the start.

She sits; forever the doll.
Forever the child with dreams on her lips
Till gentle hands come to coax then rip.

From gentle hearts come gentle minds.
From gentle hate comes gentle love.

The opposite of love is not hate, but indifference.

Honey lovers give her sweet words to taste,
But honey cannot hold the world together.
Glue doesn’t even do that anymore,
Now that the world has been broke in two.

Floating in outer-space
Candles in the mouths of fish swim past.
Who’s in control, the candle or the fish?
It does not matter; they both know it does no good to wish…
But do you?

Lovers will give you nothing but honey,
Words sickly sweet to the center.
And so the child dies, just like her dreams.
Her life poisoned and torn by honey… The toxic killer

I love many things. Including the contradictions I sometimes contain.
I’m a little too obsessive over the colour red. I love traveling and have permanent wanderlust. I drink too much peppermint tea and sometimes sing the blues to my dog. I obsessively carry around notepads when I’ve got writers block and have been telling my family since I was eight that I will be a writer one day.
I love looking up at the moon at night and the smell of the beach in winter.

This is wonderful. I had something I wanted to say and now I’ve forgotten. I’ll come back when I think of it :D

  • haha, thank you, very much :) i’d love to hear it if it does come back, but don’t worry too much if it doesn’t.

Something to do with honey being sweet but toxic and it being very clever. I’m really frustrated that I can’t think of it…

  • its ok :) i understand.
that actualy came from the fact that i dislike the taste of honey and finding its sweetness almost sickly. dont be too hard on yourself if you cant think of it :)

    I don’t mid the taste I just don’t like the texture…

  • again, i understand where your coming from :) there is an over stickyness to honey that makes it stick to the back of your throat all wrong… but maybe thats just me.

That’s exactly how I feel about honey. It’s sticky and gross when you eat it. And if it gets in your hair is horrible. (I have really long thick hair so as a child that was always a problem for me.)

  • yes… i did as a child too… but i do have to admit, honey and lemon tea is wonderful :)
but then again, the water takes the stickyness away, and the lemon the sickly sweetness.

Lemon honey tea is very good. Especially when you have a sore throat.

I think I want to favourite everything you write…

Also, I hate honey too. But it’s good for lemon honey tea, like little miss said!
