Maybe it’s the season, maybe I’m sensitized, but there seems to be a lot of angels around lately. Disenchanted’s “Idle Angel”:http://www.redbubble.com/people/disenchanted/art/414381-2-idle-angel caught my eye and while i was walking home last week the word thing happened – idle angel became idol angel became idle hands are the devil’s … playground? workshop? however that phrase ends… and Angel action figure dolls flashed through my imagination. But who’d be crazy enough to create Angel dolls? No one. Luckily. But what if -

Now there’s Idle Hands at least until I think of a better title.

One of InfinityRain’s characters turned up with Amanda from the Rogue Mapping series so I thought the story wasn’t connected to Siren’s Gate, but felt it probably should be because of Rain, and heh la I remembered I left Amanda in Nightingale.

Finding Dimity Sharpe

Can’t remember why I picked Dimity for a character. Bit odd, got a rhythm, looked good in conjunction with Angel but it needed something more, something with a bit of snap. After much mumbling it lined up with Sharpe… yeah, needed that e on the end.

And bonus! Dimity Sharpe has a similar sound to Modesty Blaise, one of the greatest characters ever.

News: Siren’s Gate is officially a serial at Sputnik57 with first serial and online (plus a print option for a future anthology) rights sold, reverting after 6 months. Lots of great things there for me but it does mean no more installments HERE.

Pretty good considering I started Stars only three months ago more with the intention of creating a Group based on a shared city rather than a new series.

Been reading Elizabeth Peters (Egypt in the archaelogical heyday) all weekend and fell in love with the line bring me his head in a basket ... turned out to be the line I needed to hold Running the Rails together and set Angel in context with other Darklings, particularly Gale. I do like her. Regrettably.

And Macks is back! Or making his debut as Rue the Day comes after Infinity . I thought it would be him, then thought it might be Dimity, but came back to Macks. Parts of the city’s history turned up, too: the warlord days, lions, architectural influences.

Somehow I’ve skipped right to the end with Cat’s Cradle which of course won’t be the end because I’m catching hints but it’s certainly set a while after Noir ... and looks like we’re going into a new story arc. Hopefully with more Viper and Jem.

I owe Shanina for Jem. And Victoria for giving me a new cocktail recipe: limoncello, lemon sorbet and bubbly. Sounds perilously close to divine.

Inevitable, I suppose that when I needed a name for my psychic I had to pick Kathleen. Then looking back over the story I realised it fitted so well and as I happened to be stuck on the psychometric reading I should ask Kathleen . Now I have my reading and more hints for later.

Couldn’t get into Phoenix so wrote my way back into the series by finishing off Rue the Day and indulged in a bit of foreshadowing. In the nature of prophecy it’s quite ambiguous but i like how i thin it will ultimately end up: with Macks and Dimity negotiating a temporary truce to hunt down the former Vannah Castille. Yes, I know, doesn’t make much sense… trust me. Have some more cabernet.
