Calliope Hummingbird & Hummingbird Sage by

This image features two of my 3d digital models; the Songbird ReMix Hummingbird and a Salvia spathacea (Hummingbird Sage) model. These models were then rendered over a photograph of Salvia spathacea (non-flowering ones in the image) in my yard. The image was rendered without my postwork.

The hummingbird model can morph into 28 different hummingbird species. See SongbirdReMix.com for more information.

Salvia spathacea is found throughout the California Floristic providence in Oak Woodland, chaparral, coastal sage scrub, open or shady places to 2,400’. It grows 1’-2’ tall with red/pink flower spikes and is very fragrant.

The Calliope Hummingbird is medium sized (3.5 inches) and summers in the Pacific Northwest and British Columbia. It migrates to Southern Mexico to Central America for the winter.

It is the only member of the Stellula genus. The genus name means “little star”. This bird was named after the Greek muse Calliope.
