'This might take a while....'
The Stuart Highway (between Adelaide and Darwin) cut by flood waters near the Northern Territory border, Australia, 1989. It took five days for the water to subside and a temporary bypass dirt track to be constructed. We were stranded with the road cut in both directions.

Wow Ern, this is a fantastic image. When was this taken? I have travelled this highway many times, but never been caught out like this. I do hope that you had plenty of food, beer and good company! A brilliant shot :-)
