This is a really super view of Melbourne and the grasses provide wonderful foreground interest. I can’t ever recall seeing a shot of your city from this angle before. A beauty mate! Peter

Thanks Peter. I wonder whether I ‘ducked’ too low in this one. The city seemed so far away, but I loved the glow of the sunlight in the grasses. Wondered whether it was a bit unbalanced.

Maybe a little bit but for me the main thing is that you have positioned the horizon right on a third line which ensures great balance to the scene. Peter

Yhanks Peter. Appreciate your comments as always! Bought a Sony Alfa 350 with an 18 to 200mm lens today. Waiting for battery to charge! Exciting!!!

Thank you Paul. This is an unusual shot of Melbourne. I just liked the pink of it all.

Hi Elaine and thanks for letting me know. Ah, a Sony eh – goodonya!! I have a DSC R-1 and it is my pride and joy. Funny thing is that I was just yesterday reading a write up on your camera in Digital Photo magazzine. You’re on a winner mate and I am really looking forward to seeing your first photos. If your battery is anything like mine – and I imagine it’s probably the same – then you’ll be staggered at how many photos at maximum resolution you can get out of just one charge! I get well over 500 and always leave the camera switched on between shots when I’m doing a lot in one area. As you know it’s constant switching on and off that uses battery power more than anything. WOW, there’ll be no stopping you now!! Peter

Thanks for the tip re battery Peter. My son says your camera has a very nice lens! Hence the great shots? Maybe the photographer has something to do with it too!!!
