Art has been pumping through my veins from a small child. I have vivid recollections of watching my mum painting flowers outside a window and the disappointment when we took a couple of her pieces to be framed and the framer didn’t have the wild excitement I did to just how fabulous her work was.
It was at that point I realised, at the tender age of 8, that it is pure talent that makes artists fabulous, many people can draw, few will be recognised for it. There needs to be something more, something special that only practice and determination can accomplish…it was then that I drew the first thing I was truly proud of…a horse, I believe mum still has it somewhere.
I paint, I draw, I photograph, I use any and all mediums that fall under my fingers and don’t rest until I’ve achieved at least some mastery of them. My art’s my sanity, what keeps me at peace with the world and these are some of the finished pieces from the multitudes of scraps.
