Thanks! I think we’ll have to reshoot this one – back foot is a little fuzzy when blown up. I posted it to get input on the pose and whether I should crop it to the bottom third of the photo?

Beautiful Emma. Don’t crop it but do give her a bit more space on the left.

Thanks Peter. I did crop it already, so I guess I should have left it alone in the first place, huh? Ha! I’ll get this photography thing eventually!

    wonderful shot!
I would like to see her higher in the frame with more space in the left.

Great shot. Would love to know you shutter speed, f stop and ISO. Lens on this great shot. It would be helpful because I have always wanted to catch a shot like this. YOu did a great job.

Lots of trial and error. I think we finally ended up with Shutter speed of 320. I remember 250 not being enough. ISO was 1600 because of the dark stage. I think we should have gone up on Shutter speed because the back foot is fuzzy when the pic is blown up. My daughter wasn’t using a tripod, so that may have been why as well, although most of her shots were crystal clear. We shoot a Nikon D300 and are still learning all the wonders it holds. The lens is an AF-S NIKKOR 18-200mm 1:3.5-5.6 G ED. I can’t tell you much about comparison since its the only one we own so far, but I love it! A couple of things we’ll try next time is using a tripod w/remote, raising the shutter speed and maybe even manual focus. We are so novice it isn’t funny, but digital is cheap and we love to experiment!

Your work is tremendous, Susan. I know you’ll tell us how to get the perfect leap shot when you shoot yours! :)

Thanks Anita! I’ll have to break out the original image and recrop. Great points from both you and Peter. Exactly why we are on RB! Thank you very much!
