I want to swim with you through inky waters.
I am stretched in many directions
With my feet sifting and shuffling over rocks
On the beach that day we stood.
I stretch out arms and dive into
Foreign deep waters beckoning
And swirling with shadowy strains
Of colour and depth.
I want to swim with you through inky waters
Until my legs are paddling and peddling through
Bottomless oceans with
Echoes of crumbling waves around our
Untouched skins open to shrinking skies
And Float with you
I want to swim and sink with you
Until we’ve drowned out the sound
and lost what we call control in
untamed and wild oceans.
I want to swim with you through the waters
We cannot see and cannot tame
Not knowing our direction or our future
Drowning out the spirits of our past.
Until we float under churning heavens
Take each others’ hands
And lie there until
The colour of the sky drifts and blurs.
