I painted this bowl of lemons in my studio, with the tree itself, laden most of the year with yellow lemons or undeveloped green ones, a short distance away. I really like the strong leaves and the different greens on them, depending on how the leaf is lying.The copper bowl I borrowed, and I loved the reflections it threw up from the cloth.
The Provence tablecloth is a favourite and reminds me of the ones we saw in Paris when we were there.

Hi Terri and I appreciate your comments. It’s quite good to paint lemons on branches for a still life, because they don’t deteriorate quickly like flowers do, for example. They are still out there waiting for the next phase of painting, when you want them to be!
