Haven’t seen a Lotus Berthilotii in years. I love this paintings. Wonderful, rich, vibrant colors.

Hi Randy – thanks for your nice comments. I was intrigued that you thought this was a Lotus Berhilotii so googled it. The only photo I could find showed me why you thought this, but it is a different flower. This one is found only, I think, in outback/desert South Australia. If you google Sturt’s Desert Pea you will see photos of them. Yes definitely a similarity there, but not the same!

I have just stared at this a long while. Wows me. Almost looks figurative. I’ll be googling this wild plant. Thanks for sharing it!

Hi yvonca – thank you so much! That was a very nice comment you made about my painting. I think also that you will enjoy looking at the Pea in photos as it is truly an unusual flower.
