'A Brush with Vincent'. by Elizabeth Moore Golding

Photographic Prints

Available to buy on…

This is an acrylic painting on canvas 79×60×4cms. It is my take of one of the many paintings Vincent Van Gogh did of sunflowers – this one being ‘Sunflowers’, painted 1888.

I love Van Gogh’s work and enjoyed painting this. I used real flowers as my subject and had to use florist’s wire to bend one or two like Van Gogh’s couple of drooping flowers! I signed my name where he put his!

Please note that the original painting has now been SOLD at www.lizmooregolding.com

My solo exhibition in Melbourne last year was entitled ‘A Brush With Vincent’!
I work in different forms of media e.g. oil, acrylic (on canvas), pen and wash, pen sketch, hand-painted ceramics. You can see many of these converted into high quality cards, prints, throw pillows and tote bags which are for sale through www.redbubble.com/people/emgolding

Thank you! I actually set up the flowers (bought locally when in season) and placed them in similar poses as VG did in this one of many Sunflowers that he did. The bottom right flower wasn’t bent enough so I used florists wire!

I have entered the challenge as you suggested too!

We’d love to see your YELLOW art works in the Yellow Two group

  • Hi Sharon – thank you for saying this – I have checked and I think this one is there already. I will check with my other yellow paintings. I do seem to use quite a bit of Cadmium Yellow in my works!
