In 2010 we travelled overseas and I sketched and painted as often as I could, sitting on deck chairs, on a fold-up chair in country lanes and on many occasions, ancient walls. During this time we spent a lovely period in Tuscany, in a converted building on a working farm called ‘La Vigna’. Vines grow there now, but it was a tobacco farm. Tobacco still grows in the region. It was an amazing time ‘Under the Tuscan Sun’. Me the artist and my husband the writer. No TV, no radio, no microwave, no dishwasher, and it was just bliss.
Some of the many places which we visited, are reproduced here with my pen and sometimes later in my studio on canvas.
