Tracks upon yellow seas of sand
Leading to trees, I sit below
A flash of the sun and soon I’m enlightened
His name, meaning lightning, is Rayo
His fierce gaze appears friendly to me
And through his eyes of brown
I see the knowledge inside of him
Greeting me across the shady ground
Courage he offers, a gift of strength
I stroke through Rayo’s golden mane
A thank you for this gift of life
Lightning, so strong, so fit for his name
