5,000 year-old lovers found locked in eternal embrace near Verona , Italy.
i felt deeply compassionate about this world even as a child, but then, being a child, i felt deep pity which hid love from me for many years. I have since found that we ourselves are the generators of love. and love is the great attractor, isn’t it? isn’t that what it all comes to? love brings us together and clears the fog of separation. with our own eyes, hearts, and souls, we see ourselves in one another. and what a miracle it appears to be that we are all One. Yet how commonplace from the vantage of the duration of our presence on this this earth. And what is it we all share and orchestrate in agreement but stories about ourselves. Over and over again. Regardless how developed or traditional all those dramas and narratives, there is an inarguable charm and poignancy to the human drama and the story of western civilization. It is great art, civilization, such cleverness and tragedy!
I see that there are many of us rushing off to Samsara to do what good we are capable of. Whether it mystical, illusory, or densely material, there is good in the worlds we occupy. There is good to be accomplished, anywhere we are. Whatever torment we overcome or dopamine we we crave, we are brilliant, noble creatures, whatever world we occupy. Wherever we find ourselves, let us remember one another well and think well of one another. And let us know our familial bond here and else where in our experiences and remember how beautiful we are, us human beings, we are extraordinary every one of us, just as are all sentient beings, even those tightly gripped by the dark.
The dark and fear may have their lure and fascination, especially for control and sensual pleasure but we all know that ultimately the sublime pleasures of the flesh and power over others are just as temporary as anything else.
Unless you live in a world where everyone lives forever, our flesh will soon enough no longer be our own or anyone else’s. this body, this life, is a precious moment in all that there is. It deserves not only honor and respect, our life derserves our gratutude.
We are all extraordinary beings. Let us learn well the most useful meaning of this beautiful theater and get on with it. Or at the very least settle into our chosen meaning and do our utmost. Give ourselves over to our narrative. What about my home? My family? My community?
many blessings for the good any one of us brings to many others.
