WooHoo!

I am quite speechless this morning! I have a very good friend who is a fantastic writer – I love reading her stuff, even though it does feel very intimate to read the writings of a close friend – don’t know why. Anyway, she belongs to a group which always has great sounding challenges, and I love reading the stuff she writes for them (very successfully I might add!).

This particular challenge was to write something truly awful, and some of the entries really had me tickled, and as the days wore on a truly awful sentence of the most ‘excruciating pap’ (as one reviewer noted!) evolved in my head, so I had a stab at it:

Lakeside Love

This morning I heard that I came second, with my mate Miri one vote behind in third! I am really excited – although I’m going to take a while to decide how I feel about only being the second crappest in my very first writing competition – is that good or bad? But anyway, a hearty thanks to everyone in Flash Fiction for humouring the musings of a first time entrant!

Oh – and I am now over 1000 views – a small milestone, but a significant one for me!

Yay, good on you Embino. Writing anything on call, even true crap, takes skill and precision. So maybe you could say your writing was precise and fit the rules of this competition. Great to have success early in your ‘career’. Have a go at the Solstice one and flex those writing muscles. :o) Well done.
