I am an extremely amateur photographer. I recently emigrated to Brisbane, Australia from England, and love to travel, so have a real hotch potch of pictures and subjects. I don’t know that I have really found my ‘thing’ yet – I like to snap things I find pleasing to my eye, and sometimes they come out OK. I recently started doing a little bit of writing after much encouragement from my very good friend (and talented writer) Miri – I seem to be a bit more successful on the writing front, with a competition win and two home page featurings under my belt – very humbling, but very very exciting!

We recently upgraded from a 4 year old olympus mju, to a Lumix TZ15, which has really whipped me into a frenzy of photography – I’m really enjoying it, especially trying to get some macro skill going.

Any advice, comments, tips etc gratefully received, I am incredibly amateur and constantly overwhelmed by the artwork on here, and very flattered whenever any of you super talented lot take the time out to view or comment on my pics. Thanks!

For a while nothing happened – slow seconds seeped past, maudlin minutes meandered and time trickled in a torpid torrent until the lady with blushing hair and algal eyes appeared, languidly lopi…

Might As Well Face It

I know the drill. I’ve been here before. Well, actually, not here here, but here in my head. Psychologists and other clever people will tell you that there are 6 stages to grief or something

2 Week Wait

I have a piece of music that I love. It is written in a foreign language, and I don’t understand the words. When I listen to it I always think that I can just pick out the odd word in English R…
