Broken Love

Newborn baby love so deep
To hold and cherish
Sing to sleep

Little baby, love profound
Smiles and laughter
All around

Tiny child oh so sweet
So full of fun
A joy to meet

A loving home, such tender care
A promise is made
To always be there

But time moves on, promise dies
Love forgotten
New love thrives

A man so cruel, terror so sheer
A child confused
And filled with fear

Mummy mummy can’t you see
What this man
Has done to me?.

I try so hard to be so good
He wants more from me
Than he should

Little child, now cast aside
Tormented and left
Comfort denied

Abandoned and sad, so very cold
Love lost forever
No one to hold

Beaten and wounded, tired and sore
So very alone
Can’t take anymore

It hurts to move, to breathe and cry
A body so broken
Gives one last sigh

Angels appear, hover above
Gaze upon
A child with love

Little child no more pain
A mother’s loss
Is Heaven’s gain.

Artist's Description

For a very long time I have had an ache inside for all those little kids who for no reason other than the fact that they are alive are so cruelly tortured and murdered… so I dedicate this to all of them, may they find the love and peace they so richly deserve.
