moment i tried to get my head around
the words my mind
had processed but
i found
difficult
to comprehend was
that what i saw before me
was not what i was seeing
what did he mean by
‘this is not
a pipe’?
that it was a pipe is
blindingly obvious is that this
surrealist humour is intended
to make left-brained thinkers
think again
and backtrack
and if so
then this is not a poem

ha! cool mind bender here, love that last stanza, you’re a smart one. i am surrounded by left brained, scientific, logical people and while i certaintly have that trait in me; my right brain tends to make sure i dont let the left brain always lead.

This poem (or not) is like looking through mirror with a mirror behind you and seeing yourself reflected in a never ending line of ‘you’s’....definitely bent my mind like a surrealist painting. Awesome outside-the-box kind of writing, Jordan. It seems like you had fun writing this one.

Ah, Jordan that is a poem and this is a comment as far as our current definition goes. Rene’s image was not a pipe, it was a picture of a pipe, “you could not smoke it” ;-)
