music creeping through
the half-closed
doors
of my mind
slipping in
slowly coming
through the windows
and neglected
cracks
in the walls
that hold my heart together
keep out the ghosts
of my past
keep me alive
secretly
silently
with slow and hidden purpose
the music flows within
the music lives within
my mind
the music of the night
stale memory lives again
in nostalgia
recollection
longing for the days
of my youth
of my past
of the sun
this music
of the night
keeps me alive
