venezuela

i walk across
cold and hard
white-tiled floors
down
clean-scrubbed aisles
of sterile uniformity
symbol of contented suburbia
past shelves
in rows
stocked with rich
dark chocolate -
100% cocoa
at least

and of course
delivered by
grey steamers with
grey smokestacks
from across the atlantic
and picked by third-world workers
in blue overalls
under a yellow sun
in venezuela,
wherever that is

I love the way you have expressed this political comment. Subtle, yet so profound.
    Absolutely fantastic poem.
