Artist's Description

Whales have always been very special to me. Especially when I lived on the coast of NSW, Australia and was able to watch their migration.

Now living by the Coast in Canada I feel the energy of our Whale friends once more, making their long journeys. I have been so blessed to see whales so close from my home on Vancouver Island.

Although they are the biggest mammals on this Earth, they are perhaps one of the most endangered and unable to fend for themselves. It is important we look after these amazing, beautiful creatures. Even if we can’t see them much of the time, they are very much there and an important part of our world.

Original was acrylic on canvas, 2012
