Artist's Description

My husband is a guitarist and so I couldn’t help but be influenced by him! He has a guitar named the “barncaster” made out of recycled wood from an old pig barn. It is so beautiful and has so much energy- this got me thinking about the actual materials that go into making guitars and how this affects the music. I also recently saw some electric guitars made out of very raw wood- holes/gaps/twists still in the wood- so it looked very much like a tree still.

So this image was born out of all these experiences- it explores how the wood given from our sacred trees contributes its energy into creating soulful music- that feeds our hearts.

Original was acrylic on canvas, 2011
