this series of work is a preliminary set of charactor studies.
respect to the gifted few that so effortlessly say so much with the slightest of strokes. this is no.1 of 3.

I am torn between thinking they are ugly and respecting the artistic integrity behind their creation. They raise important questions of beauty and what it is to be human. The series is very valuable.

    it’s raining outside…
i sit here in my cosy creation, my bubble, indeed it is a bubble. i don’t know if it’s red(?)
anthony lister, francis bacon, dave mckean, i am humbled in response to the commentary.
my strive, my purpose is to say as much as possible with the slightest of strokes, that is why am here, that is why i live and breath. in all of us there is an unseen beauty, a capture that not only unveils the mysteque of human nature, but also displays the holiness of one. the pic between pictures, an individual crystalisation of a moment caught; essence on display, may i be so bold to add, ‘beauty at it’s height’. that is what i look for. most people hide it, some after years of practise cleverly disguise it, ‘it’s just their way’, but shine it does in every one of you, and i am blessed with your gift. love or hate – human nature at it’s best. i walk around, i talk to folk, i drink coffee. i thank the one that shows me humility, integrity and courage. i thank you all.
    it’s raining outside…

There’s so many great pieces to comment on amongst your works here Elsh.. it’s hard to choose.
I can see the Bacon influence for sure and the darker side of Mckean… really well executed artworks and I love the groups of series you seem to work in.. great stuff.
Would be nice to see these up in a gallery space.

    Keep painting on!
