Acrylic on canvas. 120cm x 100cm This is a painting I did for the PUBLISHER’S CUP CRICKET ART PRIZE this year. I was unsuccessful in being accepted as a finalist. Of 232 entries, there were 32 finalists. This painting is based on a beautiful photograph by Claire Farley, (see her work on Red Bubble) which she graciously allowed me to use.
This is really stunning Ross. (Don’t know how I missed it). The colours and the lighting are fantastic and your skill with the brush is very evident!!!! It should have been a finalist!
Thanks so much Lynda. I’m happy with it, but it is apparently not the style required for the competition.

The theme is adorable Ross, and I think it is very skillfully painted, we’ll just consider this as their loss for not selecting. I like it a lot.
A lovely comment Jim, thank you.

Thank you also, Mrs Willow.

I’m amazed this didn’t get placed, Ross – quite simply, it’s a wonderful painting. But then, there’s no accounting for tastes. brilliantly done!
Thanks Patricia for your comments.
