The Big Island of Hawaii - Mauna Kea at Sunrise by

Mauna Kea is a dormant volcano on the island of Hawaii. Standing 13,796 feet above sea level, its peak is the highest point in the state of Hawaii. However, much of the mountain is under water; when measured from its oceanic base, Mauna Kea is over 33,000 feet tall—significantly taller than Mount Everest. Mauna Kea is about a million years old.

beautiful work, Edith! never been to Hawaii, maybe some day!

  • You should definitely do it Vadim. The Big Island is beautiful, but next time I go, I am renting an AWD vehicle for the entire time. Most of the really cool beaches require one to gain access.
