I have looked at autumn photos here before and never recalled seeing the leaf strewn avenues. I guess I see the leaves after the rain with the mud and the blah factor. On a detour on a not sunny but definitely not rainy day, equipped with camera and in the company of a friend who had come to visit me (and yay she was patient enough for me to stop a few times along the way!), I managed to find this… :-)

Morden Hall Park, more or less right on the London/Surrey border. October 25th 2012.

Canon 400d 17-85mm lens.

As is. Straight from camera.

Lovely scene and capture .. I’d have been kicking up those leaves :)

  • Thanks! I have no idea how I missed this! :-D Weird but kicking them did not really occur to me… normally it would have done :-P

I love the composition – I noticed this year the leaves were kind of left where they fell, I wonder if it’s to do with cost-cutting? I’m glad there weren’t many leaf-blowers about though, gave us a chance to enjoy :-)

  • It really was the first time I ever noticed a “proper” autumn like you see in the photos here. It did not occur to me that it’s because they weren’t cleared away :-P The leaves were certainly cleared on the streets. It’s nice to have seen so many autumnal scenes anyway :-) Next stop, WINTER :-P Thanks!

Your portrayal of autumn with the leaves strewn on an avenue leaves one with a fine impression!

  • Thanks Kanages. I always look at works from the US where people show amazing autumnal images but here it seems more like “ok it’s autumn so it will be roasting hot or raining”. I don’t remember seeing a scene like this for many many years and we finally got a proper autumn and an almost proper (albeit long) winter. It’s nice that global warming may not get us for a few more years :-P Thanks for stopping by and taking the time to comment :-)
