Staying out of the Cold by ellismorleyphto

Not all of my works have to mean something or be on sale etc, some are just… fun.

This has been uploaded for a challenge avatar for an upcoming “Cuddly Toys” challenge.

While we had a day out in Reykjavík, not TOO cold as it was July after all but not the warmest, Teddy Edward (Left) and Plug faced towards the porthole. they were in more or less the same position as we queued to get back onboard. Security was pretty high.

I wonder what they did. I know that Teddy Edward speaks as much Icelandic as I do… (ekki svo mikið men nóg, hehe…) in fact, bizarrely he speaks as much of any language as I do… he’s a very clever Teddy Bear who has been with me everywhere I go (at least if I stay overnight, he no longer comes on day tours with me!) since I was 6 weeks old. At somewhere near 40, that will never change :-P

    That’s really lovely.

  • Thanks :-) It was the first photo I thought of when I was thinking about a plush toy challenge. I have not entered it, just used it as an avatar but am thrilled with the response that I have got. :-)

I like how you have toyed with this idea and presented it!! The capture speaks its own funny language.

  • Thanks. I somehow think of my toys as not being just that, especially these 2 who I have had for my whole life, more or less. I usually make sure they can “see out” if I am somewhere new… of course on a ship in Iceland I was going to let them see everything! When I came back in the late afternoon, I was lucky enough that they were on the correct side to be able to see them and that the cabin was low enough to spot them. It was the only chance I had to do that on the trip as otherwise we either had tenders or were boarding on the port side. :-) Very punny comment. Thanks. :-D

    LOL! LOVELOVELOVE this!!!!!

  • Thank you. They still come everywhere with me, although Teddy Edward needs some major surgery… he currently lives in a “sleeping bag” (a small wash cloth that I bought from Poland which you can put your hand in, not quite a mitt.. looks like a sleeping bag, in fact… and when he travels, to protect his nose, I need to put him inside another bag. That’s really no way to travel for an almost 40 year old bear :-P Plug looks after him as best he can but there’s little defence against The Dreaded Airport Baggage Handlers.
