So the vet told me that Isobel can eat anything she wants for the next couple of days or however long she will be here. Could be less. No matter how good or bad for her, as long as she eats.

So I opted for her favourite, popcorn chicken… well… she ate (no breadcrumbs I have that she has the chicken!) about 3, not enough to feed an ant, really, once you take off the coating… in fact she preferred the fries.

Still… this photo would have been a lot different a few months ago… there is no WAY I would have left the box this close to her.

Anyway this, timed with falling down the stairs and therefore not sitting for long periods of time, is why I have not been around so much. I shall add this to a journal entry too.

Once things are settled here I shall be back in force. Miss you all!

Photo taken on Tuesday 24th January 2012.

Canon 400d 17-85mm lens.

I use no post processing of any kind, unless stated.

The things we do for our pets, huh? I hope she gets to stay with you for a long time…..take care of BOTH of you……
    A cute pic!

  • Thanks Mary :-) I KNOW! I had to eat fried chicken for her, wow… tough things, eh? Seriously though based on today the certainty of tomorrow has gone…. although there’s still another night to go. She will tell me when she’s ready. She’s been hiding today but also eating some stuff… not sure if she’s fighting or just enjoying the luxury of human’s food (chicken ham mostly but today I got her some tuna!) for a while :-P

I shall update in due course. :-)

    MAGNIFICENT WORK!!!

  • Thanks again :-) Makes me sad that I shall no longer have to share my food with Isobel but i was happy to be able to get a last few photographs of her before she was too weak to pose for them. :-)

Awwww, poor darling, hope she heals quickly. What a treat, should make her happy for a while anyway! Too sweet! xoxoxoxxoxoxo

  • Thanks :-) I had a day longer with her than anyone including the vet expected, she went to the rainbow bridge on 27.1.12 which was 3 days after this was taken. The vet thought she would be lucky to have 2 but she was given the OK to come home on the 26th. :-) Normally she would have eaten a lot, she had a few bites (hand fed) and walked away… even here she sniffed it and went away… it’s still too soon to write much about it :-)

I’m so sorry!! wonderful of the vet to allow you to spoil and just love her for those few days… cute capture and a sweet memory.

  • Thanks Micklyn x It’s been weird the last few days as I have been at home rather than on nightshift. I keep hearing her or thinking “oh I have to be careful when I do that” and so on. I sort of made my peace with this when I got her 2 years ago as a cat with a lifelong illness, certainly after the 1st 6 months she could have “gone” at any time. I was very lucky and never took a day for granted :-) Doesn’t mean I’m not sad of course but it’s so much easier than with the last cat (the other cat in the Isobel collection) who got ill very quickly. Anyway thanks again for stopping by ☺

Lovely capture … so sorry you lost her .. I’m glad she got some treats in the end… hope you are feeling better from your fall too ~ ouch!

  • Thanks… she had this occasionally but it’s not good for her… she did not eat many but certainly liked the smell. Am feeling a lot better from the fall, thanks. Not perfect but not in agony :-)

    Thanks again, Susie :-)
