This wild wood pigeon allowed me to take just one photograph before going back to pecking around for whatever it is that pigeons of any breed peck around for.
They definitely like the urban environment between the houses and the tram stops… this had the added advantage of being near the local city farm… lots of things to peck for there! :-)
Wandle Trail, Merton, London, England. February 2010.

I use no post processing of any kind, unless stated.
Thankyou! There seem to be more of these than regular pigeons around here lately… this one was kind enough to keep still for a short time :-)

They eat all the food I put in the garden and starve out the other wild life but they are quite obliging with their poses.
I used to think they were rather rare but suddenly I see no “normal” pigeons around here anymore… :-) They are nice to photograph though if they keep still long enough :-P

Funny how they know the difference between a shotgun and a Canon!

Good catch – they do have this critical look sometimes, don’t they? And I talk to birds too :) why not?!
Hehe, thanks… watched WAY too much Columbo when I was younger, I think! :-P
Talking to birds is better than talking to the trees, I guess! :-D
