This window caught my attention from a very long way away. I was happy to end up right by it when I walked some more.
As I thought from afar, while the windows are not bricked up or boarded up in the traditional way, there is no way that you will be able to see inside.
On closer inspection there may be some black board there in the window, but somehow this still draws me to it. Yay anyway that I could get this close.
Building next to the weir, Merton Abbey Mills, London, England. February 2010.
Canon 400d 18-55mm lens.
I use no post processing of any kind, unless stated.
Thankyou! I saw it all the way from a bridge and did almost as well with the 75-300, but was definitely happier to see it close up with my 18-55 :-) I was not leaving until I got it right, I am surprised no-one came up to ask what I was doing ;-)
Congratulations!!! You are a TOP TEN winner in the Square and Rectangle Shapes challenge in Cee’s Fun Artsy Friends Group. Your cohosts, Cee and Chris
Yay, thanks for letting me know! (and for adding this to your favourites!) :-)

simple yet very strong. wonderful framing and composition. i’m always drawn to this type of shot…such character
Thankyou! I saw it and HAD to capture it! I too love this sort of shot… wall with a small window to break it up and definitely want to make a theme of it in my new group in the future :-)

Love the contrast of the thick, glossy black paint against the flat irregular patterned brick.
Thanks Elisabeth! :-D

A wonderful composition and a tricky challenge. Great.
The “black board” could as well be a safety box…
Thanks for taking the time to stop by.. and to find such an obscure photograph!
:-D
