This globe also serves as a clock… the numbers on there are positioned so that, assuming you know how and of course assuming there is sun (this IS London, after all!!) you can tell the time by the shadow.

To me, the real worth of this image is not just the fact that it shows such a wonderful object, but that each flange on the top shows a different quality of light.

  • Thankyou for such a great comment, David! :-D

I don’t think I had spotted that as such, but this one stood out as the best one to upload out of the ones I took, so I guess my subconscious knew what I was doing even if I didn’t :-P

Very cool image….amazing how they invent these!!

  • Thanks Wendi! It makes you wonder how people did this without a computer to program exactly where this or that goes ;-) Ahh, remember the days when one had to use a brain? Hehe…

I don’t know how old this was but I believe it works :-)

Very creative title and image. It’s at the zoo…hmmm I haven’t been to that zoo yet..Note to Self: Add seeing zoos of Europe to Bucket List:)))

  • Thanks Karen! Well London Zoo is expensive and definitely not the best zoo in the world… however there are a lot of buy one get one free offers so if you do end up over here, I will gladly take you to the zoo!! Colchester Zoo too, I went there 15 years ago and loved it.

Wow in fact there are SO many zoos in England, if I learn to drive in time I can take you to the zoos and birdworld and whatever across the country… would take a couple of weeks to see the best ones, I reckon :-P

    Thanks for stopping by! :-D
