4b,2b,hb & h mechanical graphite pencils + 6b graphite pencil on A4 Bristol Board.
A commision from my dad to do a picture of an elephant for my ex-wifes daughter who ‘loves’ elephants.
Emma owns a little piece of my heart,I left it with her after I walked out on her,her brother and her mum whilst in the midst of my drug and alcohol fuelled madness.Emma lives with cerebral palsy but thats not a definition of her, just a small part of who she is.Emma is Emma and I’m proud to say that I had the chance to connect with her.
I’m not so proud to say that I made some bad descisions that ended with me having no direct contact with her.I thought I would never get an opportunity to make any amends and put some good back into her life but I praise God for giving me this chance.
I wrestled long and hard with this picture but eventually won through and am happy with the result and even happier with what this means to me.A piece of me will go with it and I couldn’t be happier about that.
5th April 2010.

wowee its stunning Lee, you are a master, its a lovely gift in so many ways – what on earths a mechanical pencil, do you just press a button and it draws for you – the more i look at this the better it gets

  • Thank you sir for your kind encouraging words. It is a gift indeed and I feel so blessed to be gifted in this way, quite different from your gifting though. When it comes to furthering the kingdom I tend to do better with my gob than my art.As to the mechanical pencil unfortunately it aint a robotic programmable drawing aid tis just what I used to call a propelling pencil. You know like a pen but with a choice of leads within. You push a button on top to extend the lead/graphite.Great tool to have cos they always got a point as such. Here endeth todays lesson.Lee.
