When I Was Young

Christian freeform poem

When I Was Young belongs to the following groups:

All Things Poetic, Artistic, Philosophical and Living Christianity

When I was young I thought that You were just a a baby.
A wonderful gift to me
. Someone to talk to who knew how it felt to be small in a big and scary world.
Someone to walk with me in the dark and keep the shadows away.

When I was older the world told me you were just an idea.
Kind of a good moral lessoon…and the child’s heart in me faded.
I walked alone and not often on the right road.
I struggled wondering where You had gone.
I did search for You but no one agreed on who You were.

When I was dying You came to me.
You healed me and taught me.
Now I know that You are grown up too
. Your are King above all Kings.
My Savior, Lord and Life.

Best of all
You will never leave me out there in the dark.
and You will come back to bring me home.

This is a lovely poem, it really explains how someone would mature in their beliefs over time, beautifully written.
