Got into “imagined” lives of turn of the century women, less exact portraits, more records of how they might have felt. Watercolor on paper.
eyes, face, women
Oh Sooooooooooooooooooooooooooo Brilliant , those tones and colors are to die for , a mesmerizing portrait Ellen
Another one very well done, you should get more of your work uploaded ant entered into some groups!
I think this painting is excellent. Obviously, you have a talent for painting portraits, Ellen. I especially like the skin tones and the eyes. I’m guessing you are attracted to Eyes. Well, along with Cats/Kittens!!!
Jacque, thank you for your wonderful comments. You are right about eyes…. I am very drawn to them. their effect in the face, the light they transmit and emotion… In every kind of face, human or not. I look forward to doing more studies of people. Doing them as the subject….requires a lot…. Takes a lot of study and observation, for me.. But wonderful to do, when I have time and focus to work on them.Best! Ellen.
Dear Neutro,Thanks so much!!!!! Best’ ellen
Beautiful work, Ellen. Love the textures and eyes!
Thank you, Chris. This is my favorite of these faces. I worked on cold press w. color paper , something I don’t usually do. It helped the pigments depose in ways which were very useful . Will have to try more cold press and more careful faces. I do faces all the time but real portraits only occasionally. Best! Ellen
Very very nice work, Ellen!!
Sally, thanks so much … Very much appreciated! best! Ellen.
