I love Rosie. That’s cute. I once has a siamese cat called Truffle. Not as cute as this little girl though. lol I love the little yawn she has and her cute little paw sticky out of the roll. Too precious! A fav for sure!

Absolutely wondeful capture!!!! I had a cockatail called Rosie and he could speak two lang. (english & russian). He was flying on my shoulder and was calling me by name & was asking for food – nyam, nyam, them he was kissing me and stroking my sheek with his head. When I’ve got my little puddle I had to sell Rosie and still missing him a lot. Thanks for reading Ellen, hugs, xoxoxo

Oh dear, has she really gone blind? And lost weight too? That’s bad. :( What did the vet say? Are the eyes cloudy or something?

I haven’t been RedBubbling for a while but I took some mushroom shots and had to come upload them. And also see how you and your rats were doing.

Oh, I see. Hopefully she’ll adjust her new kind of life soon. I have had a few blind rats and they did just fine as long as I did not change anything in the cage. The rats rely on the other instincts more. They have for example “muscle memory” meaning that their bodies remember their surroundings. They remember e.g. how many steps are needed to cross the cage or at what angle the stairs are. They can move around without really seeing anything. Probably you already knew all that. All the best for your little rattie! Hopefully there is not anything else wrong with her.

As long as the rat eats well and is alert when not sleeping, she should do fine. Just keep the cage quite simple and always talk to her before touching her. My latest blind rat learned to listen to me very carefully. I only had to whisper a lil and she came. Other rats just slept.
