Context: “Bah, humbug,” is what Ebeneezer Scrooge says in A Christmas Carol—it kind of means “Nonsense” or I guess “Rubbish” (ok, I speak American English, not British English, so don’t quote me on that…) Anyway, Ebeneezer Scrooge tells people “Bah, humbug” before he changes his mind about the true meaning of Christmas. [The true meaning of Christmas in A Christmas Carol is the spirit of giving].

“Bah” is just sort of a sound…a grunt-like sound.
