Ellen, I’m so sorry for your loss. I know how attached you can get to these little guys. I had a hampster for almost four years that was so dear to me. These little creatures have feelings and are so very sweet.
Keep in mind that you gave him a wonderful life and much love. Something he may not have had anywhere else…

Hi ya Ellen…Unfortunately, all things big and small die. We just recent lost our lab. We all greeve, and mourn, and then slowly move on, but always remember. Hugs to ya, kiddo. Hope you are OK.

They are such dear companions and unfortunately seem to suffer from all sorts of ailments that cut their lives short. Thanks Ellen. Bertie was 22 months old. He had very badly scarred lungs from chronic lung infection. His brother had the same but he was only 11 months old. :o( xx

Aww it’s horrible isn’t it. Making the decision is such a horrible one, but the kindest one. I feel better knowing he isn’t struggling to breathe now. He also stopped eating in the end so he would have starved if he hadn’t been put to sleep. They just don’t live long enough!! ((hugs))

Hello Ellen….so sorry to hear of the sad loss.I know what losing a loved pet feels like. I’ve lost pets before and their place in my heart is still empty, and I still remember them with fondness. Judging by the picture he was well looked after and I’m sure you have no remorse as you gave him a good life, and did all you could for him when he needed you most.

Very sorry for you dear Ellen, he was rally beautiful…I lost my other cat on Friday, still seeing him everywhere, but his chair is empty… so I know how much it is hurting. But we have beautiful memories on them.

Rainbow Bridge poem for bereaved animal lovers

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
